Queen of Pentacles: Nurturing Mother
I picked one of prettiest cards in the deck today — the Queen in her garden, surrounded with beauty. I am particularly jealous of her rose vine, while I sit in my little box in the sky surrounded by melting snow and shades of grey. Today, feels a bit lighter as the sun is shining and breaking through the gloominess. But don’t be fooled, winter is not over. This is just a brief respite before the polar vortex hits.
Perhaps this is a reminder that though winter appears to kill all vegetation and greenery, eventually spring does arrive. The hope that comes with the tiny sprouts that push through the snow, when spring finally arrives. And the full bloom of summer when nature shows us all its fantastic colours and it’s hard to imagine being cold in the heat of the sun. I can’t wait for that.

Reversed meaning: Reversed, the card represents self-absorption; selfishness and jealousy, greed and the pursuit of only personal gain.
Reflection: This card represents the Mother Earth/Gaia energy. The colours, luscious greenery, fruits and animals reflect a very feminine ideal. It reminds me of a pregnancy shoot — the vibes Beyonce might have been going for with her infamous photograph on a flower throne while pregnant with her twins.
