We move to a new month on a Monday, and yet, nothing has really changed. January felt like the longest month ever, however I accomplished very little. We seem to be stuck in Groundhog Day, walking, working, eating, sleeping, rinse and repeat. Even more posts feel repetitive, like I cover the same ground every day in different words (and sometimes the same words).

Usually when I write these posts, I come up with solutions and resolutions. The act of writing helps me process my thoughts and gets me to focus; in a small way it helps me get through the day. But today, I truly have nothing.

Page of Pentacles from the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck

What you see: A youth in a green tunic with a red turban stands in a grassy field holding up a pentacle in both hands. There are trees and mountains visible in the background.

What it means: The youth is focused solely on the pentacle in front of him, and doesn’t seem to notice his surroundings. The mountains in the back symbolize obstacles, but the lush fields also signify fertility.

The story: The Page of Pentacles represents ambition and manifestation; the drive and planning that characterizes the initial stages of a creative project.

Reversed meaning: Reversed, the card represents procrastination and a lack of focus or drive; the missed opportunities as a result of poor planning.

Reflection: The Page cards are always quite bright, but this one is particularly sunny. It’s a great card to pull for the start of a project — brimming with inspiration, the focus and determination to achieve success. It’s the fuel that get’s us going on our journey, that makes us almost blind to all the challenges and obstacles that we know we will face but we can’t visualize them yet.
